I’m Hørður, a cinematic 3D & VFX artist from the Faroe Islands, now based in Dubai, with over ten years in visual arts. I grew up listening to my grandmother’s folklore stories, endless tales of legends and myths told among the misty cliffs out in the middle of the Atlantic. That is where my inspiration started, I began with drawing traditionally, there I found myself trying to fit an enitre story and world onto one sheet of paper, and that feeling is something I have been chasing ever since, and the result of that has become HIEX.
Now I can carry a shot from the first idea, through the entire 3D pipeline, to the final frame, across offline rendering and real time in Unreal. But where I truly thrive is in the cinematic side, the visuals and the story. My artistic philosophy, if it even is one, comes down to trust in the audience. I hand you a piece with meaning and a story behind it, but the owner of that story is you.
