BEFORE THE FILM
Before a single frame of the film existed, this teaser had to make people feel it anyway. It opens the world of The Nix of Leitisvatn through fog, suggestion and sound, hinting at the spirit in the water without ever showing its hand.
MADE TO PITCH
This was built as pitching material, the piece that had to sell the world before the film existed. It did its job, securing funding for The Nix of Leitisvatn before production on the film had even begun. The title was designed in Fusion, the imagery composited and graded there, and the sound built in FL Studio.
I recorded the Faroese voice acting myself and shaped it in the edit, pitching and processing my own voice into the grandfather. With nothing finished to lean on, tone and atmosphere had to carry everything.

WHAT IT DID
It became the pitch piece for the whole project, cut in two versions for grants and for social, and proved how far mood and sound can carry a story before it is made.
